Roy Lichtenstein


5 Facts about Roy Lichtenstein
1.  He was born in Manhattan on October 27th, 1923
2.  In 1949 he graduated from Ohio State University 
3.  In 1960, he taught at Rutgers University 
4. He had received many awards in his lifetime, including the Creative Arts Award in 1991
5. He died at the age of 73 on September 29th, 1997

Ben-day dots are part of a technique of painting. They are dots that are usually the same size and the same distance away from each other. Roy Lichtenstein used this method often with his work. 

There are many differences between Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein's work. While Warhol's work popped with color, Lichtenstein used mainly primary colors with his work. Also, most of Lichtenstein's work tells a story with text adding to the painting. Warhol didn't use text in most of his most famous work.
